DSTA talent showcase
I think once I start work I won't have time to blog so I'm blogging now...

The DSTA scholars orientation thing is coming to an end tomorrow and I'll have to get back to work on Wednesday. =( I am really dreading getting back to work but if I don't get back to work, I'll have nothing to do to pass time. I will really miss all the orientation activities... especially OBS. And I'll miss the scholars too. Although we've only known each other for a month or so, I think we all really clicked really well like old friends (actually I think a number of them really resemble people I know or known...)

And after OBS, I've been working on our performance for the DSTA awards ceremony. Although I think they're crazy to make us put up a performance, I think it's really useful in helping us get to know each other people. =) I really do love the musical group as much as I love my OBS group (never mind if 6 of the people in the musical group are from Washington).

The initial concept for our item was Stomp and we bought a number of pails and biscuit tins and other stuff to make music (noise?) out of. We even 'composed' all the different rhythms and stuff and practised for an entire day but the idea was rejected because it lacked melody and was too monotonous. Then we came up with another item in which we played 'He's a pirate' from Pirates of the Caribbean (=) I love Pirates!!! Haha I'm the one who suggested. I love the PoTC soundtrack (and Orlando Bloom)), A Whole New World, More than Words. Considering we have only practised for a few days, the end product was not bad. Some senior officer actually said he was looking forward to a magnificent display or something like that. =)

Another highlight was being driven friends around your age in their dad's cars. It's actually really fun because Koon Seng is a car lover and his car is the big 7-seater one and I think it's my first time taking one of those type of cars... (or maybe not... I can't remember if Mr Fuad's car is that sort) and he drives super fast. I remember that Tokyo Drift was being played and we kept egging him to drive pass many cars including our favourite yellow GT3. I think there was once he made a sudden stop because the car in front suddenly braked or something. Was nearly thrown off my seat if not for the seat belt. One word: FUN (and dangerous). And then there's Jerold who cannot listen to many people giving suggestions on how to leave DSTA when driving (or many just my suggestions). His driving style is completely different from Koon Seng because he's more cautious and slower but he gets easily confused and I guess I give confusing instructions too so he nearly dashed a red light at Marymount Rd (but hey, because of construction work, it's hard to see the lanes at that junction!!). Really an interesting experience. You don't get to do this with experienced drivers.

2 photos with my OBS group (I don't have one with the musical group yet... I hope I'll have one soon though)

Oh, by divine intervention, I think most of my major problems are solved. =)

Random Statement 26
"It's difficult to remember what you have forgotten but impossible to forget what you remember."

So as long as I remember, I won't forget. I guess now it's more of a question about how much I believe. I like to think I believe in it totally, but seeing as how I sometimes prefer to rely on myself, I'm not sure how much I believe in it. Doubtful, cynical, or unwilling to put so much burden on what I (or at least what I think I) believe in (hopefully this is the reason why), I don't know. I really hope it's the third. ... sometimes you just wish your prince charming can come and help you solve all your problems? And help you become a better person?

I've decided that other than being rich, intelligent, faithful, good-looking etc, my future spouse has to have the ability to help me become a better person. And no, he doesn't have to be a psychologist, counsellor etc.

I think I'm crazy.

It's going to get worse once I start facing taxpayers again.

30th June was the last day before the GST hike and like lots of Singaporean I bought stuff... a jacket, a basic tee, pants and a skirt. And for some strange reason they were all black. I never had black in my closet and now I have so many. And yes, this is totally random. hahaha

Featuring an old drawing of mine becauase I'm too lazy to draw. What else is new? At least I coloured it (nevermind how ugly and messy it is). If the words sound very familiar, think Heroes... and copy&paste.
